Most garage jobs stall while you search for the full tape you laid on the saw stand ten minutes ago. We put this pocket tape in a small shell that sits in your pocket until you need a quick check on a frame. Both measurement scales sit side by side on the blade.
The small front hook shifts forward or backward to account for its own thickness. You push it flush against an inside wall or catch it on a board edge and read the same line.
Pull the steel blade out and it stays where you stop. There is no latch to flick while holding a mark with your thumb. The spring button pulls the blade home when you finish.
Imperial runs along the top edge while metric sits on the lower half of the steel. You can check a metric bolt gap and an inch cut without doing math on a scrap board.
We coat the high carbon steel blade so the printed markings stay clean when sliding across rough pine. The blade edges are smoothed down so the tape rewinds cleanly into the case.
Different shelves, same Saturday. These hang elsewhere on our wall but clock in on the same jobs as this one.
