Chamois leather and old bath towels push water around and leave streaks down dark paint. This sheet is wide enough to lay over a roof panel and thick enough to hold what it lifts, with no stitched edge to drag over clear coat.
Laid out flat the towel reaches across a roof or a hood, so you drag once and the water comes with it. Two folds make a pad small enough for door jambs, sills, and the gap behind a folded mirror.
The pile is heavy and twisted in pairs, which is what lets one sheet take a whole car without going sodden halfway down the second door. Wring it out over the grass and the nap stands back up.
There is no stitched border and no tag, so nothing hard rides between the cloth and the paint while you pull it along. The same reason makes it worth keeping for glass and for a motorcycle tank.
It goes through the machine with the shop rags and comes out ready for the next wash day. Keep it away from anything that sheds lint, and hang it up rather than leaving it balled in a bucket.
Different shelves, same Saturday. These hang elsewhere on our wall but clock in on the same jobs as this one.
