From our bench

A tarp corner pulled tight with wet cord usually means picking at a knot with a pocketknife later. We spool braided line through an aluminum cam body so one pull takes the slack out. Press the lever and the bite lets go. Three come in the box.

Bite on the line

Pulling the loose tail rotates the aluminum cam until the teeth lock onto the braided cord. The line stays where you draw it. Pressing the thumb piece drops the grip without cutting into the sheath.

What arrives wound

Three separate tensioners sit in the package with the braided line already threaded into the bodies. You can hook one straight onto a truck bed anchor or tie off a shelter post before tossing the rest in the bin.

Driveway and camp jobs
