We machined the body from aluminum and put the gas dial right under your thumb. The trigger stays dead until you slide the latch, and the brass nozzle handles everything from a faint blue taper to a wide cone. You supply the standard propane cylinder from your own shelf.
A mechanical slider blocks the trigger when the torch sits on your bench. The internal seal seats against the cylinder threads to hold gas flow steady until you pull the ignition switch.
A secondary button skips past your dial setting and opens the valve completely. Pressing it gives you the full flame on charcoal piles or campfire logs without having to spin the brass knob back and forth.
Turn the rear knob to back the heat down for browning sugar, melting cheese, or warming a stubborn bolt. The nozzle keeps a low blue cone running without sputtering out in a light breeze.
The head threads directly onto standard portable propane bottles from the hardware aisle. Only the bare torch assembly arrives in the box, so keep a threaded gas canister ready in your garage.
Different shelves, same Saturday. These hang elsewhere on our wall but clock in on the same jobs as this one.
